The members of the Arlekin String Quartet were assigned to play together at the Moscow Conservatory of music, where they studied with the world famous Borodin String Quartet. No one knew that these four young students would become a group and would stay together for over a decade. During their many years together, the Arlekins have toured extensively throughout Europe and the former Soviet Union. Since 1990, the quartet considers San Francisco its new home, and performs actively in concerts, educational programs and festivals throughout California and Oregon.
