I am Bob Murphy and I lead the Bob Murphy Jazz Ensemble. I play soprano saxophone and Latin percussion. I usually play with a trio or quartet. I play a four-piece configuration, with piano, upright bass, drums, and myself on soprano sax. When I play in a three-piece configuration, I usually use a vibraphonist and upright bass, in addition to myself. This is a quieter sound suitable for cocktail parties and more intimate venues.
