SAX IN THE CITY can provide music for any occasion, and play a variety of styles, including classical, pop, jazz, and Broadway. We are a saxophone quartet most suited to play for a wedding ceremony, and/or for dinner/cocktail music. We have performed for many weddings and anniversary parties throught the Tri-State area. SAX IN THE CITY accomplishments include performing the world premiere of "River of Words" with the Fairfield Chorale in Fairfield, CT; performing as part of the Newark Library's "Celebrate the Differences: Music and Different Cultures" series; and, performances with the Diane Fay Dance Theatre at the Clarke Studio Theatre at Lincoln Center. In addition to their reed section work on several recording projects in New York City, SAX IN THE CITY has also been heard at a variety of venues around New York, including Belmont Racetrack, Chez Suzette, and Hannah's Lava Lounge. SAX IN THE CITY won the Music Under New York audition and performs frequently at such premium underground locations as Grand Central Station, 42nd Street, and Penn Station. SAX IN THE CITY is also on the roster of Young Audiences/New York--an arts education organization that sends performing artists into the public schools to introduce students to the arts. Most recent SAX IN THE CITY performances include the opening ceremony of the the New Jersey Library Association Conference; a concert at St. Thomas More Church in Darien, CT, as part of its "More Music" series; and, a concert at the Elmwood Park Public Libary in Elmwood Park, NJ.
